ShapeShift

It can be used by users who want to create exchange services and applications. It can also be used by traders when programming trading algorithms and bots. For users who building trading applications, they can program the applications to put in certain orders when certain parameters are met. ShapeShift was primarily intended to be used as an API.

There is clear documentation listed on the website in relation to using the API. There is a clear error message which is returned if the users input incorrect API calls. At the moment, not all of the coins which are available on ShapeShift are available to have data retrieved via the API. However, the ShapeShift team plans to add more going forward. Requests are only available via HTTPS. Calls are not possible via HTTP. This ensures that between the browser and the website is encrypted.

There is support for users who have issues dealing with the API. Users can submit a request for support via the ShapeShift Help Center. Shapeshift also show very clear examples in the documentation of how to execute certain functions via the API. They include the code which is required for each of the functions. There have also been good reviews online from users who have used the API.
